Wayne has been happily married for over 35 years. He has three adult children and two grandchildren.
He was born in Sydney in 1942, raised in country NSW, he returned to Sydney in 1963 to join the NSW Fire Brigade.

In 1972 Wayne moved to Canberra with his young family and took up duties with the Canberra Fire Brigade.
Like many Canberrans Wayne loves sports, the outdoors and has a few other hobbies such as restoring old Fords, a little reading and gardening when time permits.
 |
He has a passion for community empowerment that has developed after spending most of his working life representing people firstly as an honorary union official and later as an elected representative of the community.
Often participating in charity events he finds most enjoyment in charity fun runs among the thousands of other Canberrans who participate.
