Media Statement - 24 April 2001

This morning Chief Minister Gary Humphries announced that his government had ditched the Floriade fee and said that Floriade will stay in Commonwealth Park 'for the foreseeable future'

This afternoon Deputy Chief Minister Brendan Smyth is talking about other sites for Floriade.

Here we go again, uncertainty about Floriade's future will destroy it.

"I call on Gary Humphries to remove all doubt and guarantee that Canberra will have Floriade - IN COMMONWEALTH PARK, WITHOUT FEES AND WITHOUT FENCES," Wayne Berry said this afternoon.
