(Private Sector Employees) Bill 1992
With this bill Wayne introduced legislation which enabled male and female parents to have a period of unpaid parental leave and be able to return to their jobs afterwards.
This gave parents more job security by safeguarding their employment after a leave of absence. This bill applied the national standard on parental leave to workers in the private sector who were not protected by their respective awards.
