A message on behalf of Totalcare workers

We are union delegates for workers at Totalcare, people who have for many years built and maintained Canberra’s general infrastructure. They are the people who build roads, make road signs, repair and maintain government buildings and mow the lawns. These are public services often taken for granted - until they disappear. For a number of years these workers lived with the threat that their jobs would disappear. Hundreds of jobs around them disappeared. They went to Wayne Berry, he listened to their concerns when they fell on deaf ears with others in the Assembly. He followed these concerns up and went into bat for them. He did not give up until he had achieved a positive outcome - the Totalcare jobs were saved. Wayne really put his neck on the line, his determination and fearlessness of consequence saved the jobs of the remaining Totalcare employees. Wayne is not afraid to stand up for what is right and fair, he has proven this time and time again. We believe that Wayne is the sort of politician who works hard, not for himself but for ordinary working people.
