Among Wayne’s main aims is the protection of rights and interests of people in the workplace. This has resulted in a continuous campaign against the anti-employee excesses of the Territory and Federal Liberal Governments.

His primary focus in the 1998 election campaign was the expansion of job prospects in the ACT following on from the cuts by both the Territory and Federal Liberal Governments - this remained his aim during the term of the Humphries conservatives in Territory Government.
