Diploma in Community Services Management
The first participants in a new program to train community services workers received their diplomas in April. The 16 students were the first to receive the Diploma which will be awarded through Community Education and Training. The qualification was introduced nationally in 2002 and adopted as a diploma in the ACT with the assistance of the ACT Government. Community Education and Training is a non-profit community based registered training provider established in the ACT since 1995. They have a range of new courses including Youth Work, Community Services work, Aboriginal Pathways Program and Youth Centre Literacy Program. The flexible delivery and assessment methods employed for the diploma have also enabled the busy managers to continue to work full time while accessing the training course during working hours. Wayne congratulated the graduates on their achievement and thanked them for their commitment to professionalism in the community sector.
