Assembly declares the ACT refugee friendly
During the recent June sitting period Wayne Berry MLA successfully moved a motion declaring the ACT refugee friendly.
After participating in a number of International Refugee Day activities, Wayne moved the motion as a symbolic statement to show that the ACT supports refugees in their efforts to seek a safer and happier way of life for their families.
“I think it’s healthy policy to oppose racism whenever we get the opportunity to do so and to oppose those divisive elements which may creep into society ” said Mr. Berry.
The motion to declare the ACT to be refugee friendly was supported by all MLAs.
