Police action in Holt
Holt will benefit from new ACT Police initiatives to improve community safety.
A new suburban crime prevention team (SCPT) has been established in Holt. The SCPT will use tactical and intelligence led crime prevention methods to increase the level of community safety in Holt. Detective Superintendent Chris Lines said, “This approach is about police working with the community to achieve solutions.”
The idea behind the strategy is to reduce crime in Holt by identifying and targeting causes, diverting young people at risk, educating residents as well as strengthening the relationship between police and the community.
This initiative is a good example of the ACT Police working to meet the needs of the ACT community.
Wayne has been concerned about the increasing number of calls from concerned residents about incidents affecting community life. These have affected both suburban homes as well as Kippax Fair where businesses have also suffered. Hopefully this initiative will address these problems.
