Building and Construction Industry Training Levy Act The building and construction industry is a major employer in the ACT and in an era where there is an emerging shortage of qualified trade people continued training is of vital importance. The Assembly passed a bill introduced by Wayne to address the problem of ensuring the ACT has enough qualified trades persons into the 21st century. The legislation sets up a board to manage a fund used to train and improve the skills of building and construction industry workers and to undertake research into the training needs of the industry.
